YOGA With Darlene Bink
A B O U T
Over the past 20 years, Darlene has experienced many teachings styles that have allowed her rhythmic Yoga style to bloom! Her teaching style and personal practice are based on listening and being guided from within. She teaches a playful and fluid approach to Yoga, emphasizing ease, gravity, lightness, and freedom. Exploration, creativity, and mindfulness are also a part of her approach. She believes that a Yoga practice can open your heart allowing your authentic nature to surface, thus allowing you to “Live Your Yoga.”
Two of Darlene’s main influences are Vanda Scaravelli and Erich Schiffmann. When Darlene lived in the Dallas area she fell in love with the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli. Coming from an Iyengar and Ashtanga background, Darlene found the freedom of this approach refreshing. She enrolled in the Namaste International Teacher Training program, directed by Irene & Bill Beer. This program is registered with Yoga Alliance and at the time was based in the Toronto area. She received her 200-hour teacher training certificate in 2003 and her 500-hour teacher training certification in 2005.
During her training of Vanda’s teachings, Darlene also completed a 1 1/2 year Yoga apprenticeship with Carol Stall. Carol has been practicing
Yoga for over 30 years and is a gifted teacher. She is also trained in Vanda Scaravelli’s and Donna Farhi’s teachings. Her guidance, insight, and compassion have always been appreciated.
In 2006, Darlene completed Erich Schiffmann’s 10-day Teacher Training course in Venice, CA. Darlene immediately connected with Erich's "Freedom Style" Yoga. Erich is an excellent teacher and his approach to Yoga allows one’s authentic nature to shine through.
Darlene is passionate about learning and the study of Yoga. She enjoys being a student as much as she enjoys being a Teacher. Other teachers who have influenced Darlene are Donna Farhi, Angela Farmer, Krishnamurti, and Buddha.
Darlene shares her creative approach to Yoga in instructional videos, in classes, and in workshops nationally, and internationally. Contact Darlene for questions about hosting a workshop in your area.
